Central EC member wins ‘Crockin’ It’ contest
Cathy Cartier gave a celebratory shout, ran down the aisle and gave a big hug to AREA’s Lenore Vickrey when Cartier was announced as the first place winner in the Alabama Living “Crockin’ It” crockpot competition at the Alabama National Fair in early November.
She won $500 for her entry, “Sweet Home Alabama Stuffed Meatballs.” Cartier, who lives near the Marbury School, works at the Air Force War Gaming Institute on Maxwell Air Force Base and said she plans to donate half of the winnings to the Combined Federal Campaign, the workplace giving program of the federal government. The top three recipes and photos of the winners will appear in the January issue of Alabama Living.
